Summer 2013 is approaching very quickly. With this in mind I thought I would tell all you lovely viewers and readers what I will be up to this Summer.Traditionally, I would normally go on holiday somewhere nice with my family. However, last year I went on my first 'mates holiday'. Now before you all scream 'MAGALUF' or 'KAVOS' at me I did not visit either of those places but instead visited Paphos on the island of Cyprus.
I first went to Paphos last year on my first 'mates holiday' and I have to say it was probably the best holiday I have ever been on. I would compare it to Kavos and Magaluf but at the same time I would also compare it to Portugal because during the day it is very calm and relaxing. However, as soon as the sun goes down it's all systems go and you find yourself on Bar Street partying the night away.
All of the Club Reps out there are exstremely nice, that might be because they want you to spend more money, and they want to get to know you and your background. All of the Reps are from England, mostly from London, Nottingham and Leeds so you're bound to click with them instantly. I'm planning on doing a season out there this year, or next, so I'll do a post about that either on here, with the permission of Sophie, or on my own blog. Below I'm going to give you my views on certain places and recommend you a few places to visit if you ever decide to visit sunny Cyprus.
The Place
Cyprus is an island near to Turkey and Iraq. From East Midlands Airport it is about a four and a half hour journey, by plane. Paphos is about a twenty minute drive from the airport. Paphos is only a small town however it has a lot to offer from sandy beaches to an amazing nightlife.
The Climate
Cyprus, in season, is very hot. Temperatures can reach upto forty degrees so if you hate to be 'too warm' then Paphos is not the place. Personally, I love the hot climate so it is perfect for people like me.
Accommodation
There are plenty of places to stay in Paphos. From hotels to apartments to rent. I'm lucky enough to have a friend that has an apartment out there. From hotels on the beach front to apartments just out of town there is somewhere for everyone, on everyones budget.
'Bar Street'
Bar Street, ironically named, is the place to go for an amazing night out. Avoided by the locals Bar Street was set up with the tourists in mind and delivers on every level. Obviously, due to the current economic some clubs and bars have had to close (one also burned down last summer). However, there are still a number of clubs and bars to keep you entertained. From Linekers, Bubbles and Boogies to Splash, Rainbow and Flairs (featured on Sun, Sex & Suspicious Parents) you will never have a dull night. The majority of the clubs offer two for one on drinks plus a free shot and fish bowl. Which if you ask me is CHEAP. Drinks are generally in the four pounds region however, you could easily have an amazing night out for about thirty euros. The majority of the clubs do not charge you to get in however, you do have to be in the club before a certain time. One thing I would say is that alcoholic drinks are more expensive than soft drinks .. is that saying something? but it is something to bear in mind.
Conclusion
In Conclusion, Paphos is an amazing place for all ages and I would recommend that everyone visit. With cheap flights and competitively priced hotels you're sure to have the time of your life. Also, if you do go visit Aphrodite Water Park just outside Paphos for an amazing day out. (Some pictures will be posted at the bottom of this post)

I'll hopefully be back soon with another.

Above is the Linekers Booze Cruise. This runs every day from Paphos Harbour and is an 'eventful' day out if your up for it.
Cyprus' sandy beaches. Amazing during the day. The beach bars all play chart music (with some remixes thrown in for good measure) so no need to take your iPod.
Finally, the famous Paphos Strip. Appropriately named 'Bar Street'. Go on, loose your Bar Street Virginity because once you've been you will want to return again and again.
