80's Fashion With @omgbrads!

You're really lucky if you were born in the 80's Bradley and I are both 90's kids. We both feel like we were born in the wrong decade! There was so much more going on especially the fashion everyone had a unique style but some how everyone fitted in. Fashion was so diverse and everyone had fun with it! Some of the categories people fell into included: The Mods, Rockers and Punks.

Some of the 80's fashion are slowly to come back round and I am seeing shops, especially high street shops slowly bring back the style, which for me, is amazing.

                                                      Mods and Rockers

When you think of mods and rockers,You think of the 1960s but they was a revival in the 80's which was of course influenced by the 60's!.Think The Jam,sharp suits, always smartly dressed.A very clean cut look but with a wild side personalty to show how things were done!

Punks
When you think of punks you think of leather/jackets,big Mohawks and big black leather boots!,think Vyvyan from the show the young ones.He was a punk loads of Metal piercings,Slogan T-Shirts into heavy punk metal music!

Skinheads

'This Is England' is a great way to see 80's skinheads fashion from a male and a female points of view both male and female had there head shaved one way or another, females often had a small bit shaved with hair left,Men had there whole head shaved. They wore Bradley's favourite doc martens!,with jeans tucked into them then  a smart shirt with braces.

Who could do a blog post about 80's fashion without talking about David Bowie, Boy George and Adam Ant. Their fashion was amazing. So much colour and texture. They chose to express themselves not just by their music but with what they wore. Mostly wore woman's clothing, I have to admit! With the only exception out of the three being Adam Ant who just wore make up. What I love about that era was how people embraced everyone for who they were and how people grew to love everyone.

Q&A: Titanic

Today's post is going to be on the famous film 'Titanic' which I am sure many of you have seen over the years! It is a truly iconic film. You will laugh, cry and feel a number of mixed emotions throughout however, the film is really worth watching time after time.

Below are a number of questions I have come up with and I am going to answer them for my viewers today. If you would like to do this post on your blog using the same questions then you are more than welcome!

1) How old were you when you first saw Titanic?

I must have been either ten or eleven. My mum loves this film and when she showed it to me it was like a instant love just the story of how two people can come together even though one is rich and has everything they want and then one is someone who has struggled all they lives to making a living and to be happy.

2) Who is your favourite character and why?

Molly Brown is my favourite character she was a mother figure to jack she wasnt horrible to him just because he was 3rd class and she embraced that, Help him through all the hard times lending him clothes to fit in and made him feel accepted.

3) Who is your least favourite character and why?

I actually have two. My first is Joseph Bruce Ismay. He is a bully and a huge coward sneaking onto a life boat which could have saved more lifes but no he left them to die and they breaks my heart and makes me so angry! My second is Cal he did not derseve to be with Rose, all he cared about was money and himself!

4) What scenes in Titanic make you the most emotional?

there are quite a few scenes that make me emotional especialy the scene where there looking for bodys and there is a mum and a babies body they just makes my stomach drop that baby will never get the chance to live! another scene is when jack and rose promise to never to let go but its to late he has already passed away she has to let go to save herself but she knows she will never forget him!
also when jacks freinds die Tommy and Fabrizio its heartbreaking another scene in titanic that makes me emotional is just before the boat starts to flood a woman is tucking her chrildren in bed promise that everything is going to be alright but its to late they cant get off the boat!

5) Are there any deleted scenes you wish had not been cut from the movie?

I havent seen any deleted scenes so I can not answer this question! However, I can imagine that there are many deleted scenes!

6) What is your favourite song from the soundtrack?

If you ask anyone who has seen the film it will be My Heart Will Go On the most famous song in movie history!

7) If you were a passenger on Titanic, which class would you be in?

I would be happy in 2/3rd class money is not important to me aslong as I could saved someone's life I would not care if I lived or died as long as people remembered me saving someone!

8) Who is your Jack/Rose?

I class my family and friends as my Jacks and Roses cause they are the huge part of my life!

Men's Fashion: Guest Post By Harry Mills

When Sophie approached me and asked to me write a guest post for her new blog I really did not know what to write. After some thinking I thought I would talk about 'Fashion' and how it has affected my life and the people around me.

'Fashion' means different things to different people however; by definition fashion means 'a popular trend especially in styles of dress, ornament or behaviour'. I guess you could argue that the definition explains it well but fashion, to me, is much more than that. It is a way of expressing how I feel and at the dame time fashion lets me reveal what I want to reveal to people in a subtle or loud way.

I have not always been interested in fashion, I mean obviously I've always loved dressing up from as you as I can remember but fashion didn't really become part of my life until I was about thirteen or fourteen. I remember seeing people in clothes that I didn't have and thinking 'I really like that, I'd love to own that'. And ever since I've been hooked! I just love how clothing can change your life in so many different ways and how many different looks you can get out of one garment of clothing.

At the moment I'm really loving the 'wrap up warm, it's Christmas' look because let's face it everyone loves Christmas (or The Holidays if you're from the USA). I love the sherpa lining of hoodies and coats, the beanies, the scarves and most of all the autumnal knitwear. Below are some of my favourite examples:

Nordic Jumper - Wolf & Badger
90.00
Beaver Point Sweater - Abercrombie
150.00

To me knitwear is so versatile and can we worn throughout the year however, there's something about wearing it in autumn/winter when it's cooler outside and you can layer it over a thin tee and then put a nice thick pea coat over the top of everything. Let's not forget to mention the all time classic 'Christmas Jumper'. I mean what's Christmas without them? I know some people take them as a bit of a joke but styled right I think you can look really classy wearing one.

In conclusion, I think fashion is what you make it. And at the end of the day it's not everyone's cup of tea and some people are jumper and jeans kind of people and I totally respect that. However, if you're into fashion like me and enjoy it as much as me it's something that will simply change your life forever.

Harry.

Fashion: The Only Way Is Essex

Today's Topic: Fashion
Today's Fashion Victim: Amy Childs

Amy Childs has achieved a lot since leaving The Only Way Is Essex. From going on Big Brother to opening her own salon which has done amazingly well. People from all over the country want to visit her salon to have their nails or the famous essex spray tan done! You cannot be pale in essex its major crime! (I'm joking, but you would look a little out of place)

You can view her salon's website by clicking the link below

Furthermore, she also has an online shop which has done really well. Her target market is mainly teenage girls however, many older women have been known to make some cheeky purchases from her latest clothing line. Below are some screen shots taken from her website:

Here's a selection of dresses!

As you can see her website offers a large variety of different products. From dresses to perfume. In my opinion her clothes are reasonably priced and her dressed retail (on average) for about 75.00 which is reasonable for a dress (considering you would pay in the region if shopping on ASOS).

Furthermore, with Christmas coming up I have some of her products on my Christmas Wish List (we'll see if Santa brings them me or not at a later date) however, with so much to choose from I think you would struggle to find something that you did not like.

Other products available to buy include her famous 'Sleep In Rollers' and also bits and pieces such as her perfume.

Overall, I really rate Amy Childs clothing and cosmetics line and I really think it is worth a look. I know many people do not really rate her because she is from The Only Way Is Essex however, I feel that Amy Childs has really changed and that her products really are worth the money.

Her website is really worth a browse even if you do not intend on buying anything. So the links (as always) are below. Overall, my first impressions of her website and products are good. Regrettably I cannot give Amy Childs' website or products a Sophie Star Of Approval because I have not personally tried her products.

The Sweet Club Review

When The Sweet Club offered to send me one of their boxes to review I really could not say no. So here's my full review.

How It Works ..

The Sweet Club is an online based company that allows you to fill 'a box' with a certain amount of sweets (eight packets to be precise). They will then ship your goodies to you and when it lands on your doorstep it should look something like the picture below!

The Review ..

The box arrived only two days after being dispatched which in my opinion is great because these days companies always say that parcels will be delivered within three to four working days however, my Sweet Club box was here in a blink of an eye!

As you can see from the pictures the contents is well packaged and protected. I will certainly be keeping the tissue paper as it's great for crafting!

The price for a fortnight's supply of sweets is 9.95 however, The Sweet Club has a special offer on at the moment where you can buy a fortnight's supply for only 7.95 (Bargain if you ask me). In my opinion 9.95 is great value because in some stores you would be paying eleven pounds and above for eight bags of sweets (and lets not forget that The Sweet Club offers current and retro sweets so you're bound to find your favourites, the hard part is picking your ultimate favourite eight)

Online they currently have a 'Christmas Box' for sale that I am considering buying because these boxes are great for Christmas when you're sat watching a movie with friends or family! (Sharing is caring!)

Overall, I would 100% recommend The Sweet Club. Great products and great customer service!
I give The Sweet Club the Sophie Star Of Approval!
